Romeoville Mayor John Noak has been invited to speak at the 4th Annual Summit on Competitiveness Conference in Chicago on Thursday, November 17th. Sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Alliance for Regional Development, the Summit will address complex economic and social challenges through greater regional collaboration.
The event will focus on the region’s narrative as a center for excellence in transportation, water, workforce, advanced manufacturing, and innovation, with a series of panels and keynote speeches. Keynote speakers include Federal Government Region V leaders discussing Department priorities and grant opportunities and Deborah Wince-Smith, president and CEO, Council on Competitiveness, discussing how our mega region is a driver in the nation’s economy.
Mayor Noak is among three panelists discussing the effects of e-commerce from the perspectives of business, government and real estate. “I am honored to be amongst other leaders at the Summit as we focus keys topics within our communities such as E-Commerce,” said Mayor John Noak. “This is a great way to discuss the challenges and opportunities we face with this rapidly evolving segment of our economy,” added Noak.
Throughout 2016, the Alliance for Regional Development has been hosting quarterly conversations on topics critical to the region, as stepping stones toward this Summit, producing insights for a master development plan providing a specific set of proven or promising policy and programmatic recommendations. These insights can be tremendously valuable for businesses, nonprofits and governments that adopt collaboration as a way to strengthen economic opportunity and prosperity.
