Between November 1, 2016 through February 28, 2017, ComEd will be performing work in a Critical Habitat Area that is home to endangered species, including dragonflies and turtles. The work involves removing five miles of wood H-Frame utility structures and an electrical conductor alongside Route 53 between 135th Street in Romeoville and Caton Farm in Crest Hill. Helicopters will be used on this project to ensure endangered species are not disrupted. While we know this may be an interesting site to see, ComEd is advising motorists in communities along Route 53 that there is limited space and parking will be prohibited – motorists should not stop and try to view the operation. We appreciate your commitment to safety.
