Being a Firefighter is not just about dousing flames. Get an inside view of the Romeoville Fire Department by learning about the services offered, while increasing your fire and safety awareness during the free 10-week Citizen’s Fire Academy beginning Feb. 2nd. Registration begins Jan. 4th. Applicants must be 18 years of age.
Academy Topics Include:
- Fire Behavior
- Fire Service Tools & Equipment
- EMS Overview
- Auto Extrication
- Day in the training tower
- CPR (Will be certified by AHA)
Classes run from Thursday, February 2, 2023 to March 30, 2023. Classes are every Thursday for 10 weeks from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Fire Station #3, 698 N. Birch.
Apply by clicking here. Registration for Romeoville residents will begin January 4, 2023. Non-resident registration will begin on January 18, 2023. Class size is limited to 20.
