Celebrate National Hobby Month by crafting a handheld habitat, card-sized curiosity cabinet or dollar-sized diorama in a recycled mint tin! A naturalist will join in to discuss different animal habitats, natural environments, curiosity cabinets and other tin-spirations for your project. All materials will be provided, but if you have small leftovers from previous craft projects of your own, this is a great opportunity to recycle and repurpose!

This ongoing program runs from Wednesday, Feb. 1, to Sunday, April 30. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
For centuries, Americans have been intensely mobile. Travel over roads, rails, rivers, trails and even the skies have shaped the cultural and economic landscape. “Journey Stories” takes a broad look at American expansion and migration. From the earliest settlers and Native American displacement to the effects of transportation advancements, our “Journey Stories” define us.
“Journey Stories” explores how movement has shaped the nation. The exhibition is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, and brought to the Forest Preserve through funding provided by The Nature Foundation of Will County. No registration required.

It's February! That time of year when wine, chocolate and lovers of romance stories unite at the library! Enjoy an evening out with author Chandra Blumberg who writes funny, heartwarming love stories about characters that feel real and relatable. Blumberg was born and raised in Michigan and moved to the Chicago area after majoring in English at Michigan State University. When she’s not writing, she enjoys lifting heavy barbells at the gym, making a mess of the kitchen while baking alongside her four kids, and traveling with her family. Blumberg will share a short reading followed by a Q&A session with the audience, and book signing. Copies of Blumberg's books will be available for purchase. This month's book is Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy. Migrations takes place in an environmental dystopia, where researcher Franny Stone makes a voyage to Antarctica to observe the last migration of an endangered species. During this journey, Franny makes a number of important realizations about her dark past and her true motivations for making the trip. This novel is an deep and emotional look at topics such as conservation, grief, and our own personal nature. This book will be available one month prior to the discussion and can be picked up at the Romeoville Branch Library's Adult Services Desk and will be due back one week after the book club date.
