The Village Board has approved permitting for two new development projects in Romeoville: a three storefront refurbishment of the Discount Tire building on Weber Road and a newly built QuikTrip fueling station on the southwest corner of Weber Road & Normantown Road.
The existing Discount Tire building will be subdivided into three units. Dunkin’ will take the rear 2,837 square foot unit. There will be space for two other retail tenants, with 1,724 and 1,277 square foot units available. A drive thru lane will be created by opening a hole through the building where one of the current repair bays is located. A new lane will be constructed around the rear of the building and thru this new opening.
The QuikTrip fueling station will be part of a larger plan for the southwest corner of Weber and Normantown, which is expected to have a Hilton Tru hotel and two restaurants. There will be a 8,292 square foot QuikTrip convenience store with the fueling center.
“As the construction on the Weber Road & I-55 Interchange wraps up, we are seeing development that is looking to take advantage of this new opportunity,” said Mayor John Noak.
