The Romeoville Village Board passed a balanced budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year Wednesday night. They also lowered the rate for the Village portion of the property tax bill for the 7th year in a row.

Capital projects for this year include street resurfacing, repair, reconstruction, and landscaping, bridge repair, a new ladder truck for the Fire Department, redevelopment of Century Park and Lake Strini, new trails, construction of the Aquatic Center and Romeo Crossing Park, watermain replacements, and well #14 improvements.

“As always, Romeoville remains fiscally responsible while also investing in the latest technology for our departments and new amenities for our community,” said Mayor John Noak.

As a reminder, the Village’s portion of the property tax bill is roughly 12% or less of the total. The other 88%+ goes to other taxing bodies. Your property tax bill is based on the assessed value of your home, a value that is determined by the township assessor. If you do not know which township you are located in, please visit romeoville.org and click “My Place” in the lefthand column of buttons. Enter your address and information about your property, including your township and contact information for other taxing agencies, will be listed. Contact the township if you feel your home’s value has not been properly assessed.

The full 2022-2023 budget will soon be available on romeoville.org.
