The Romeoville is kicking off a jam-packed summer schedule full of concerts, movies, fireworks, and more, beginning on June 3rd!
“We’re doing our best to pull out all the stops this summer,” said Kelly Rajzer, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We’ve booked more concerts and entertainment than ever before.”
The widely popular concert series will return with 12 dates and a lineup that has something for everyone. The lineup of entertainment includes:
June 3 - The Hair Band Night
June 10 - Mike & Joe
June 17 - Motown Nation
July 8 (Family Night) - Trent James (comedy magician) and Stages Performing Arts
July 15 - Bluewater Kings Band
July 22 - Dick Diamond and the Dusters
July 29 - Sixteen Candles
August 5 (Family Night) - Animal Quest (animal show) and Stages Performing Arts
August 12 - Eric Chesser
August 19 - Wedding Banned
September 2 – FUZE
September 9 - The Neverly Brothers
In addition to the concert series, the schedule of events also includes the return of Movies Under the Stars, a Drive-In movie, Community Day of Play, and a throwback to the original Founder’s Day Weekend, which will include live music, a parade, and fireworks.
Residents can also mark their calendars for a July 3rd firework display that will not disappoint.
Fireworks will once again be shot off in three separate locations, giving residents the opportunity to avoid the crowds and enjoy these enormous displays from the comfort of their own backyard. This gives Romeoville one of the largest, if not the largest, suburban fireworks display over the Independence Day Holiday weekend. The Village will once again be partnering with Star 96.7 FM Radio to broadcast choreographed music.
“We want the community to have something exciting to look forward to every week this summer,” said Mayor Noak. “After this past year, everyone deserves some fun and we are going to do everything we can to make it a safe and enjoyable summer.”
Romeoville is also working on planning a robust Fall and Winter schedule. Work is already underway for the return of the Village’s extremely successful Holiday Light Festival, which will see some new additions this winter.
More information about upcoming summer programs and events will be available on our website, in the 2021 Summer Recreation Brochure, and on social media.
