Meadowalk Park, located at 500 Honeytree Dr., is the next Romeoville parks to be renovated. The playground was originally installed in 2005 and has reached its useful life according to state standards. Plans for the park’s redevelopment will include new playground equipment, a shelter, walkway improvements, and landscaping. Final plans still need to be drawn up and presented to the Village Board for approval.
“Parks and open spaces allow kids to be kids and provide a great outlet for all their energy,” said Mayor John Noak. “We pride ourselves on keeping these areas up to date and in line with safety standards.”
The most recent set of park renovations include Rotary Park and Conservation Park as well as the construction of Pine Trail Park and the planned improvements to Lake Strini. A full listing of park locations and amenities can be found in the back of every seasonal recreation brochure and on romeoville.org.
