The Romeoville Fire Department will be providing vaccinations on 4/26-4/28 to registered Romeoville residents. The type of vaccination will not be known until Friday, April 23rd. A maximum of 1,000 vaccinations will be given per day.
Any resident who wants to sign up will need a romeoville.org account. To sign up for a free romeoville.org account, in the upper left-hand corner of the homepage, click on “Create an Account.”

Q: I pay for Romeoville water. Do I qualify for the vaccine?
A: Only people with a Romeoville mailing address who are 16 years of age or older qualify.
Q: There are multiple people in my family who qualify. Do I need to register each person separately?
A: Yes. Every person who wishes to get a vaccine needs their own registration in advance.
Q: I’m scheduled to be vaccinated. Can I bring my friend to be vaccinated too?
A: Every person who wishes to be vaccinated needs to register in advance and receive an appointment time. Those without an appointment will not be vaccinated.
Q: If I received a first dose of vaccine already, can I sign up for this event to receive my second dose?
A: This is a first shot only clinic. We will not know which vaccine we will have until shortly before your actual appointment and you must receive the same vaccine as your first dose. You should schedule a follow up with the same people that gave you your first shot.
Q: If I’m not feeling well on the day of my appointment, should I still come?
A: We will have a medical screening, including temperature checks, setup prior to anyone receiving their shot. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the CDC, you should not attend the event.
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible. Earlier arrival will not grant you access to an earlier appointment. We do not have capacity for many extra people to be waiting for long periods of time.
Q: Which vaccine will I be getting?
A: The vaccine distributed depends on which one is available for that day. We will not know that until a short time before the vaccination day.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: You will need to wear a mask upon entering the building. You should bring a printed copy of the completed Vaccine Acknowledgement and Consent Form that is available on the vaccination landing page. Also be sure to wear a shirt that can be easily rolled up to access your upper arm.
Q: I can’t make my appointment. Can I reschedule?
A: Unfortunately, you cannot. If you have to drop out of your appointment slot, you can be added to the bottom of the waiting list.
Q: What side effects should I expect?
A: For a first dose, many people may experience a sore arm at the site of the injection. Symptoms commonly associated with the second dose include chills, headaches, and fatigue. The CDC does not recommend taking over the counter medications to prevent side effects prior to receiving the vaccine.
Q: How long will I be there for?
A: We recommend allowing at least 30 minutes for the entire process.
Q: When do I get my second dose?
A: If you receive a vaccine that requires a second dose, you will be given information for your second shot that day. You need to receive the same vaccine as your first dose. You will be given a personalized vaccination card that day. You must bring this card with you for your second dose. Do not lose this card.
Q: I wasn’t able to get an appointment. Will there be another vaccination opportunity through the village?
A: We will try to have more vaccination events in the future for our residents, but there are none scheduled at this point. Keep an eye on romeoville.org and Romeoville social media for future announcements. If you haven’t already, add your name to the waiting list in case someone with an appointment drops out.
