Police Logo

The Romeoville Police Department (RPD) continues to investigate the shooting which occurred on October 14th at approximately 6 p.m. on South Highpoint Drive. The Romeoville Police Department responded to a shooting where one adult male, later identified as Osama Ibrahim, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Amita Health Adventist Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by the Will County Coroner.

The investigation leads the Romeoville Police to believe this was a targeted attack. It appears Ibrahim may have exchanged gunfire with two other male assailants. It is unknown at this time if Ibrahim knew his assailants, but all indications lead investigators to believe this was a singular incident.

The shooting does not appear to be related to the Crest Hill incident, although the RPD continues to be in contact with Crest Hill Police as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation should contact the Romeoville Police at 815-886-7219.
