The Village of Romeoville’s Finance Department has been honored with their 12th consecutive Excellence in Financial Reporting Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The Certificate of Achievement was in recognition of the Village’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2025.
The CAFR award is judged on nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well a government’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“Government financial transparency is absolutely essential,” said Mayor John Noak. “I’m proud that our annual financial reports are regularly honored by independent reviewers for their quality. The fact that our Finance Department has received this award for 12 consecutive years is indicative of their hard work and dedication to transparency.”
