From April 1 – April 30, the Village of Romeoville invites their residents to join them in conservation efforts by taking the Wyland Water Conservation Challenge.
Wyland Water Conservation Challenge is a friendly competition between cities across the US to see who can be the most “water-wise.” Mayor Noak and mayors nationwide are challenging their residents to conserve water, energy, and other natural resources on behalf of their city through a series of informative, easy-to-use online pledges. Cities with the highest percentage of residents who take the challenge win. Every person makes a difference.
30 prizes will be given away every day during the month of April to those nationwide who have taken the pledge. Head to mywaterpledge.com to see what you can win. The Village will also be randomly giving out prizes to those who have signed up in support of Romeoville.
In addition to participating in the national competition, Romeoville will be competing against other Grand Prairie Water Commission communities (Joliet, Shorewood, Minooka, Channahon, and Crest Hill) to see who can get the most residents to pledge to save water. If Romeoville gets more pledges than the other members of the water commission, they will win the coveted Grand Prairie traveling trophy!
“Saving water is crucially important and also saves everyone money,” said Mayor Noak. “The competition aspect adds a little fun and the prizes provide an incentive, so we’re hoping for a big show of support and lots of pledges from our residents.”
You can make your pledge right now. Just be sure to get your pledge in by April 30. Head to mywaterpledge.com, click Take the Pledge, search for Romeoville, Illinois, and click Begin the Pledge.
