Veterans Day is a day to salute and thank our living veterans for their service to our country. Much like we did during Memorial Day, our Veterans Day service will be recorded. On November 11, Mayor Noak, Village Trustees, and members of the American Legion will record a video from the Edward “Doc” McCartan Veteran Memorial, which will be posted on romeoville.org and village social media channels later that day. Residents are encouraged to visit the memorial at 11 Montrose Drive throughout the day, but please note the location will be closed between 9 am and 10 am that morning for filming. We ask that anyone visiting the memorial follow social distancing policies.
The village had asked the community to submit information on living Romeoville veterans for inclusion in a tribute video. That video will be releaseD prior to Veterans Day on romeoville.org and the village’s social media channels.
While we cannot gather together to celebrate our veterans this year, we are sure this will not lessen the respect and appreciation we have for their service.
