The Romeoville Tumbleweeds competitive gymnastics team competed in their first meet of the ’18-’19 season last weekend. The team had 21 girls compete at the Winter Whiteout hosted by the Fox Valley Park District (Aurora).
Three gymnasts competed as level 2 in their first career meet. Julienne Tutaan took 1st place all around and Daniela Fajardo took 3rd place all around. Two gymnasts competed as level 3s with Madisyn Saddler taking 2nd all around and Refelyn Gratace taking 1st place all around. Other notable all around finishes for the team include Kendall Battle (level 5) 2nd place, Nia Crowder (level 6) 2nd place, Ashley Roppolo (level 5) 1st place, Gaby Tetti (level 6) 1st place, and Maddy Sisto (level 7) 1st place.
“Our coaches Anne, Brooke and Mae are proud of the turnout and cannot wait to see what the rest of the season has in store,” stated Kelly Rajzer, Director of Parks & Recreation. “The Romeoville Recreation Department wants to congratulate all of the gymnasts who competed and represented our great community.”
