Bridges to a New Day Domestic Violence Awareness Month Online Fundraiser

From October 19, 2017 at 9 a.m. to October 21, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Bridges’ Break the Cycle Online Fundraiser will help fund the non-profit’s free domestic violence counseling program, which is geared specifically toward domestic violence victims and their children. Items to be auctioned include but are not limited to: Coach purses, toys, gift cards, Holiday wreaths, household items and more. Lewis Univ. presents the 4th Annual Alumni Connections Concert 

Thursday, October 19, 2017, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Oremus Fine Arts Center on Lewis University Campus, One University Parkway

Join Heritage Theatre Company as they host the 4th Annual Alumni Connections Concert featuring Clan Adam, a symphonic/techno-infused melodic metal band featuring Ashley Daun ’12 on lead vocals and a solo performance by singer/songwriter Ted Slowik ’87. Slowik will take the stage first followed by Clan Adam. General admission price of $10. Lewis students pay $2 with an ID. This year’s concert will feature a special promotion.  Beginning October 16, keep a look out on the Philip Lynch Theatre (PLT) social media sites for a special half-priced ticket promotion. The Knights' Cup - Chili Cook Off sponsored by the Knights of Columbus

Saturday, October 21, 2017, 6-9:00 p.m.

St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 505 Kingston Dr.

Attendees will be purchasing admission to the event to include an evening of chili sampling of competitor chili, unlimited (to be eaten at the event) chili, and hot dogs. A limited number of tickets are available for $10. A cash bar, 50/50 and raffles will round out the evening. Attendees will be able to purchase further tickets to support their choice for popular vote. The culinary sponsor earning the title of most popular vote will be awarded half of the sponsor entry fees up to $500.00!

Ages 9 or older: Immerse yourself in the Native way of life! Spend the day with Redhawk at his lodge, learning survival skills, cooking techniques and more. Saturday, November 4, 2017, 9 a.m.-Noon
Lewis University, 1 University Parkway, Parking Lot "W" South of the main entrance. Will County and Lewis University have partnered to offer the fourth annual Will County collection of pumpkins for recycling. Students, parents, and residents are encouraged to pitch their pumpkins and gourds! Staff from the County will be joined by the Farm Bureau and Univ. of IL Ext office to measure distance and offer prizes! Physics students will be offering a catapult option to add some thrills. Document Destruction will also be offered. Prizes will be given while available to participants - coloring books for all children, and special treats for those pitching or catapulting their pumpkin over 15 feet!  Naked Pumpkins Only! No candles, bags or boxes! Limit of five pumpkins per person. Be part of the fun and bring your family or friends to see who can pitch their pumpkin the furthest!

for the 1st Annual Vendor/Crafter Fair on November 17-18

Irene King PTO is having a Vendor/Crafter Fair on November 17th from 5-7 p.m. and November 18th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Irene King Elementary School, 301 Eaton Ave, Romeoville, IL 60446. The Fair is designed for the community and families of Irene King to support local entrepreneur parents and guardians, crafters & small businesses to help the community build and grow. *This event is to help raise funds for the school and the kids educational assemblies and field trips.
