[ARCHIVED] Romeoville Holiday Lights Display Renewed for Three More Years - New Additions Coming in 2023

Castle

The Romeoville Holiday Lights Display, which sees the grounds of village hall and the police station decked out in lights and assorted 3D sculptures during December, has been renewed for another three years. The contract for the month-long light display will continue through 2025. The festival itself is planned to proceed well into the future.

The contract extension wasn’t the only big news regarding the lights. There will be two new 3D pieces on display starting this year. A 13-foot-long sleigh that visitors will be able to sit in and an 871 square foot castle. Guests will be able to walk around inside the castle walls and stare up at the 32-foot-high tower in the center.

“The Holiday Lights Display has been incredibly popular since we started doing it in 2020,” said Mayor Noak. “We look forward to continuing this new tradition for the next three years and beyond. The new displays will add even more excitement for our residents and their families.”

The 2023 Romeoville Holiday Lights Display kicks off December 1st with the tree lighting and will remain lit until January 1, 2024. The opening weekend will feature live ice sculpting, live reindeer, food, games, character appearances, and pictures with Santa and will be held the evenings of December 1 and 2.
