Village Board Approves Local Franchise Agreement with MetroNet to Bring Fiber to Romeoville

At Wednesday's Village Board meeting, the Board approved a local franchise agreement with MetroNet, one of the largest all fiber-to-the-premises providers in the Midwest. The contract includes fiber communication services and installation of necessary equipment.

Through MetroNet's state-of-the-art fiber infrastructure, residential consumers will have access to internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps, interactive fiber TV service with incredible picture quality, and reliable feature-rich fiber phone service, all at affordable rates. MetroNet also plans to offer a full suite of business communications services ranging from a scalable HPBX phone solution for small and medium businesses all the way up to customized network services tailored to the specific needs of larger customers. "We are excited about the partnership with MetroNet. Expanding infrastructure and providing additional options for our residents and businesses is crucial. Many companies rely on enhanced services for their business operations," said Mayor Noak.

As a vibrant and growing market with strong local leadership and a forward focus on technology and enhanced quality of life for its residents, MetroNet is excited about Romeoville.
