Free tax preparation service is provided by AARP every Wednesday at the Romeoville Branch Library by appointment only. Call the Library at 815-552-4230 to make an appointment. Library staff take appointments, provide a room, and handout the packets. Library staff cannot answer tax-related questions, suggest tax forms, or offer tax advice. Volunteers are IRS Tax Law Certified and are unpaid and provide this service on their own time.

After securing an appointment and prior to the appointment, each person must come to the Branch Library they're signed up at to pickup a packet. Packets must be completed prior to your appointment time. Additionally, each person must bring to their appointment: completed packet, picture ID, proof of Social Security Number, all income statements, all expense documents, and last year's Federal 1040 and IL-1040 returns. Failure to do so may result in your appointment being cancelled.
