Beautification Projects

The Village of Romeoville has several projects that help our mission of keeping Romeoville beautiful, including:

Clean Up Week Poster Contest

Project starts in May of each year. The Beautification Commission sponsors a clean up week poster contest for all grade school children Pre-school-5th grade (ages 4 and up). The children are encouraged to draw a poster about how they feel about making Romeoville a cleaner community.

The Commission feels that by reaching out to grade school children it will encourage them to take pride in their community. The Village also encourages residents to Spring Clean. Unlimited pick-up of large items is accepted during this time and the chipper service is also available.

Community Garden

The Cooperative Community Gardens Program is a joint effort between Romeoville Parks & Recreation Department and the Lockport Township Park District. This program was developed to serve both communities at Sunset Park (729 Murphy Drive) which is located in Romeoville, with the garden being maintained by Romeoville and the park being maintained by Lockport Township Park District. Both organizations teamed up to offer plots that residents can grow healthy fruits and vegetables for their families.
