August 31, 2019, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM @ Isle a la Cache Museum
Monarchs are amazing, traveling 3,000 miles in their annual migration. Be a part of their journey. The Monarch Watch Tagging Program is a large-scale citizen scientist program that has helped us understand the spectacular dynamics through tag and release. Learn techniques to safely net and tag the monarchs at Isle a la Cache and how to submit your tagging data.
Come back to Isle a la Cache during peak monarch migration season on September 14 and September 21 to tag the migrating monarchs. Naturalists will be on hand those two days to facilitate drop-in tagging from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Stay as long or as little as you like.
Families are welcome to help. To protect the delicate butterflies, the act of placing tags on monarchs will be reserved for older children and adults.
Registration required by Thursday, August 29: 815.886.1467.
