Road Updates

Construction will be performed on the following streets in conjunction with the annual in-house resurfacing program. Notices will be delivered door to door for those affected by the construction 24 to 48 hours prior to construction beginning.

• Weber Road construction at Airport Road has begun this week and will continue until the late fall. This project consists of additional traffic signals and road widening to accommodate turn lanes into Target and Walmart.
• Honeytree Street Reconstruction (Phase II) has begun. Project consists of new concrete curb and gutter, driveway aprons, sidewalks and street paving.
• Taylor Road Street Resurfacing from Century Park 1/4 mile west. Expected completion prior to the start of the new school year.
• Romeo Road Street Resurfacing from Route 53 West to A.Vito Martinez School. Expected completion prior to the start of the new school year.
• Sanitary sewer cured-in-place pipe lining:
  • 27 inch line on Romeo Road is currently being installed
• Ion Exchange Plant Number 4 (Normantown Road)is currently under construction. Scheduled project completion date: September 2007
• Wastewater Treatment Plant Consolidation Project construction began October 2005. Scheduled completion date is February 2008
• In-House Street Resurfacing Project.
  Project includes new curb, aprons, sidewalks and pavement. 11 streets throughout the Village:
• Healy from Kirman to Troxel - completed
• Tallman from Kirman to Troxel - completed
• Haller from Hickory to Troxel - completed
• Cascade from Beacon to Ambassador
• Dexter from Beacon to Ambassador
• Delta from Beacon to Dexter
• Fernwood Ct (Entire court)
• Jordan from Rogers to Arlington - completed
• Iola from Rogers to Arlington - completed
• Rogers from Normantown to Iola
• Laurel from Montrose to Kingston
• Dover from Camden to Spangler
• Bike Path from Belmont, south to Hamrick; Sunset Park to Romeoville High School. Construction has begun and is scheduled for completion prior to the start of the new school year.
• A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Airport Road and Budler Road. Construction is scheduled to begin fall 2007.
• New Watermain from Montrose to Romeo Rd will be installed to service the new Walgreens proposed at Route 53 and Romeo Road.
