Isle a la Cache Museum presents "Living History Demonstration"

Free, all ages. Experience history up close and personal! On the first Sunday of each month, you may find cooks, seamstresses, voyageurs, soldiers or craftsmen sharing their talents. The Isle a la Cache Brigade is a volunteer group of re-enactors presenting a sample of the 18th-century fur trading life. New this year is themed demonstrations. May’s theme is Historic Fire-Starting. No registration is required for this event.

HERO and Will County HELPS event

The 2018 Hero Helps Community Summit will feature Laura Porter, a thought leader in Adverse Childhood Experiences and its relation to substance use. Porter will address how to use the science and theory of ACES to change policy and influence practice to move toward healthier communities, free of substance use. The summit will also include presentations from Maria Bruni, assistant secretary of programs for the Illinois Department of Human Services and Dr. Nirav Shah, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, who will share information about the State of Illinois Opioid Action Plan. A resource fair with 40 vendors and Narcan training will also be part of the summit. Continuing education credits will be offered. The event is free and open to the public. 

Isle a la Cache Museum presents "Busy Beaver's Craft Club"

Ages 12 or younger, join us for a FREE “Busy Beavers Craft Club.” Each month we will have a different craft set up in the museum for you to make and take home. In May, make pipe cleaner flower art. No registration required.
