UPCOMING YOUTH MUSIC/DRAMA PROGRAMS

Musical Theatre Monday’s Begins 10/16

Do you love to love to sing and dance?   In this class participants will work on a special performance for their family and friends to be performed at the last class.  Costumes will be simple items from home or made in class.  Auditions will be held and everyone will get a part.  This class runs Mondays from 7:00pm- 8:00pm.

Drama Kids Begins 10/26 and 10/28

DRAMA KIDS is a remarkable, high-energy, EDUCATIONAL program that enhances a child's critical thinking and public speaking skills while boosting their self-esteem!  We develop leaders through the use of drama techniques with improvisation, character analysis, creative movements, mini-scripts and theater games. This class runs Thursdays from 6:15pm - 7:15pm and Saturdays from 9:15am - 10:00am.

UPCOMING YOUTH LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

I speak Spanish! Begins 10/28

Did you know that young children learn language naturally and much more easily than older children and adults? Introduce your child to the Spanish language in this Spanish immersion class developed especially for very young learners. Children will be immersed in the Spanish language through fun and educational activities and music. Each session introduces new and exciting topics!  This class is on Saturdays from 9:00am - 10:00am.

Youth Spanish Begins 10/28

In this class students will be introduced to the Spanish language through interactive and engaging activities and games. Each session introduces new and exciting topics! This class is on Saturdays from 10:10am - 11:10am.

Community Basketball Leagues

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

 The players in the program will learn the game of basketball while developing a team concept and socializing with children their own age. Practice times will vary throughout the week and will be held at local elementary schools and the Recreation Center. There will be a player evaluation for players in 4th grade and higher. Players in kindergarten through 3rd grade will be placed on teams by the Athletic Supervisor and coaches. Practices will start the week of October 23rd.

Days: Mon-Fri Time: 5:00pm-9:00pm Dates: 10/23 - 3/3

UPCOMING YOUTH ART PROGRAMS

Mouse Paint Begins 10/18

Join us each week as we read a different story about colors and then follow with a one of a kind custom art piece related to the story we just read.   Please wear old clothes that can get messy.  This class runs Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 4:45pm.

Pretty Princess Drawing & Drawing Superheroes Begins 10/25

Learn how to draw cartoon princesses! We will learn how to draw long flowing hair, stunning dresses and regal crowns. This is a beginners class to get you from doodles to damsels with no distress.  This class runs Wednesdays from 6:15pm - 7:15pm.

30th Annual Senior Bowling Olympics

Event includes three games of scratch bowling, awards, and lunch (shoe rental not included) at Strike ‘N Spare in Lockport. To register for Lunch only - code 17F539 (Fee: $12/R - $12/NR).

UPCOMING YOUTH STEM PROGRAMS  

Lego Engineering Academy Begins 10/24

LEGO engineers in this class will learn about machines that move and how they move. By building race cars, cranes, a motorized dog, solar windmills, and pneumatic lifts, boys and girls learn basic Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) concepts. Chasewood Learning provides teachers-led instruction followed by hands-on learning experiences. Students gain skills and confidence through creating, exploring and problem-solving. This class runs Tuesdays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.

Lego Robotics Academy Begins 10/24

The LEGO Robotics Academy is a comprehensive, repeatable after school program where children learn to design, build and program robots. Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), this class is led by teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging and dynamic activities. The Robotics Academy is a repeatable program where children are placed based on skill and experience. Students can move up a level each time they take the class to take on more advanced concepts and activities. This class is on Tuesdays from 6:40pm - 7:40pm.
