The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that beginning this week, weather permitting, temporary, nighttime lane closures will take place on Interstate 55 between Weber Road and Willow Springs Road, in Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Romeoville, Darien, Burr Ridge and Willowbrook. The closures are necessary for a resurfacing and patching project.

The scope of the project includes resurfacing, roadway patching, bridge deck repairs and drainage improvements. The overall project is expected to be completed in Fall 2017.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
