[ARCHIVED] O'Hara Woods Volunteer Workday

Woods NF

Come join The Conservation Foundation and the Friends of O’Hara Woods improve the ecological health of O’Hara Woods at our monthly volunteer workday. Activities include cutting invasive brush, burning brush piles, pulling garlic mustard, and collecting seed from native plants. No prior experience is necessary.

The address to O’Hara Woods is 524 Belmont Dr., Romeoville, and we will be meeting in the parking lot off of Beverly J Griffin Dr. (to the southwest of Lake Strini). We have lots of space to spread out and remain physically distanced. Activities will include cutting and dragging brush for chipping and trash pick-up – no experience needed. All volunteers will be provided with new gloves and safety glasses that they can keep and sanitized tools to use for the duration of the workday. Water and packaged snacks will be available. Masks will be required in the staging area and anywhere that 6-foot distancing cannot be maintained. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes – long pants are recommended.
