Rotary Park (2023 Whitmore Dr.) will be the next Romeoville park to be redeveloped. The Village Board has approved a contract with Wight & Company to create a concept plan, which is anticipated to feature new playground equipment, a shelter, trail system, and site furnishings.
“We are tremendously proud of our park system,” said Mayor John Noak. “This is part of our continued dedication to keep our parks up to date, relevant, and safe.”
The Village Board has approved a budget of $325,000 for the improvements, of which $100,000 will be offset by a contribution from the Plainfield Park District.
Rotary Park is one of 31 parks currently overseen and maintained by the Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department. Budler Park and Discovery Park have recently received upgrades while Conservation Park is scheduled to be renovated this season.
