Pack up the car and step back in time at the Route 66 Drive-In Theater, presented by the Village of Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department. This nostalgic experience offers residents a free and socially distant family outing that is sure to entertain.
The pop-up drive-in is located at 680 Townhall Drive, behind the Romeoville Athletic & Event Center. The full list of movies and dates has officially been released. The upcoming features include:
June 26th - Frozen 2
July 11th - Sonic the Hedgehog
July 24th - The Lion King
August 11th - Captain Marvel
“The first movie was very successful,” explained Romeoville Mayor John Noak. “Our staff has come up with some great ways to celebrate summer in the midst of the pandemic”.
To support local businesses, the Village has also partnered with Car Hop Concessions by Lightning Concessions, Fat Ricky’s, Ruby’s Burritos, Michael’s Pizza, and Ats-A-Nice Pizza to offer attendees the option to pre-order food and pick it up or have it delivered directly to their vehicle’s window.
All cars will be staggered to allow for social distancing guidelines, safety, and the best view. Registration for drive-in movies is only available to Romeoville residents. There will be a maximum number of vehicles allotted for each movie and all cars must be pre-registered to enter. Lottery registration will be available prior to every movie via the WebTrac registration platform.
