As COVID-19 continues to present new challenges for all of us, we want to assure you that the Village of Romeoville is well prepared to handle these challenges. The Village of Romeoville and its task force take the advice of infection disease experts very seriously. In response to this situation, the Village has taken several proactive and precautionary steps to help prevent the spread of this virus.

In response to CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines regarding the most effective strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19, several Municipal buildings will be closed to the public effective March 18th through April 7th. These include Village Hall, Public Works, Recreation Center and the Athletic and Event Center. Village staff will continue to work on-site during normal business hours and maintain all essential operations. For any emergencies please call 911.  Anyone needing in-person service is encouraged to call (815) 886-7200 to set up an appointment. Any polling locations in municipal buildings will remain open today. Essential services will continue to be offered in a limited capacity. There will be no reduction in public safety services.

We encourage residents to utilize e-services, pay by phone by calling 1-844-835-2613 and utilizing the payment drop box outside of Village Hall for payments as a preventative strategy to limit customer and staff exposure to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

It is our priority to protect the health and safety of our staff, residents and visitors. To allow for proper sanitization, cooking and other needs the Village of Romeoville will not be turning water off for non-payment. In addition, the Village has plans in place for the continuation of critical operations, like emergency services and the management of our municipal water and sewer services. We continue to follow and meet EPA guidelines for water testing. For additional information on coronavirus and drinking water please visit epa.gov.

As this is an ongoing situation, the Village continues to share updates via the website and on social media. Information includes updates, business resources, resident resources and more.   Residents are encouraged to sign-up for notifications via the Village website at Romeoville.org as well as follow our social media.

All questions regarding health and wellness related to COVID-19 should be directed to the Illinois Department of Public Health’s hotline at 800-889-3931 or the Will County Health Department at (815) 740-8977.
