Athletic Supervisor - Full Time

The Village of Romeoville Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Full-Time Athletic Supervisor. The department has a budget of $5.5 million and a population of approximately 40,000 residents. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the community by providing a variety of leisure time activities. To accomplish this, the department provides over 1,000 different programs and events.

Job Summary:

The Athletic Supervisor will oversee all youth and adult athletic programs and leagues for the Recreation Department. This position will also coordinate and assist with various special events held by the department. The Athletic Supervisor must be a strong and effective manager with the ability to train, inspire, motivate, and evaluate staff progress. They should be innovative to aid in the ongoing program development and growth.  Must be able to establish a cohesive and team-oriented work environment.  Athletic Supervisor must have a high level of professionalism to interact and correspond with volunteers, umpires, officials, parents, and various organizations.  The hours for this position are generally 9:00am to 5:00pm; however, additional nights and weekends are required on a regular basis for programs, leagues, and events.  Other duties as assigned.


A Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or closely related field is required. A minimum of two years of experience working with youth and adult athletics, leagues, and affiliate organizations.  Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing Special Events is preferred.  Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of all sports including, but not limited to, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and tennis.  Candidate should have basic knowledge of general budgeting and invoicing.

This is a full-time, non-union position with excellent benefits including IMRF pension, in additional to vacation, personal, and sick time.  Salary range is $60,000 to $65,000 depending on qualifications and/or experience.

Park Maintenance – Seasonal Part-Time

Award winning Recreation Department seeks detail minded, energetic individuals. The Village of Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department is hiring seasonal staff for the upcoming 2019 season. Responsibilities will include: Ball field preparation, string trimming, playground repair and various park maintenance tasks.  Employees are required to work Romeofest, August 1st thru August 4th 2019. Employment will be from April thru October, 35-40 hrs per week. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license. Dance Instructor - Part time

The Romeoville Recreation Department is currently seeking experienced, highly motivated, energetic, and self-sufficient dance instructors. Ability to effectively communicate with participants, parents, and staff is crucial. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to; lesson planning, maintaining accurate records, following all safety procedures and instructing a combination of lower level ballet, hip hop, jazz, and tap classes. Before & After School Care Positions - Part time

The Romeoville Recreation Department is seeking caring and responsible Before and After School Instructors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervising school aged children kindergarten to 5th grade or preschool aged 3 to 5 years old, plan and implement program activities, adhere to the safety guidelines of the program, and must demonstrate a positive and professional attitude. Youth Program (kids craft corner, art, photography, calligraphy, painting, STEAM, fishing, etc.) Instructors - Part time

The Romeoville Recreation Department is seeking a multitalented Youth Program Instructor. The Youth Program Instructor will be responsible for planning and instructing a diverse set of youth general interest programs. Topics of instruction can include arts and crafts, drawing, painting, photography, calligraphy, STEM, fishing, and more! Individuals must have the ability to adapt to the needs of different age groups and have experience working with children in an enrichment setting. Applicants should possess a fun, creative, and outgoing personality with the ability to inspire creativity and confidence.
