The Romeoville Recreation Department and Athletic & Event Center continue to follow mask guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Employees, participants, and customers who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear face coverings.  Employees, participants, and customers who are not fully vaccinated should wear properly fitting face coverings.  Masks are not mandated or required for any of our programs, events, or rentals.  Additional information regarding Phase 5 can be found here: https://www.dph.illinois.gov/sites/default/files/COVID19/Illinois%20Phase%205%20Guidelines.pdf.  Furthermore, the All Sports Guidance was recently updated on June 11, 2021 and can be found here: https://www.dph.illinois.gov/sites/default/files/All%20Sports%20Guidance%20Updated%2006.11.21.pdf.  It is still recommended for employees, participants, and customers to take their temperature upon entering the building using the touchless scanners in the front lobby, however, it is not mandated.

ROMEOVILLE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT

The Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department offers a multitude of events, recreational programs, and community services for residents and visitors to enjoy with the mission of improving the quality of life for all community members. From concerts to carnivals, the Recreation Department hosts over thirty special events for all ages and interests including the Village’s annual festival, RomeoFest. The Recreation Department also offers hundreds of athletic and special interest recreational programs for all age groups as well a variety of community services to better serve residents and visitors. 

Since its establishment in 1965 the Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department has continued to evolve alongside its residents. Beginning in a basement office of the Village Hall, and eventually moving into the newly built Romeoville Recreation Center in 1978 the department has continued to grow with the community. In 2001, the Recreation Center fulfilled additions and renovations and reopened as it stands today.
